  • Abstract
Investigation of particulate materials for magnetic recording based on Fe4N substituted with Ru, Os, and Ir has allowed the role played by the substituent in the particle growth process of these particles to be addressed. The site of substitution within the nitride lattice is determined using Mossbauer resonance spectroscopy of 57 Fe. It has also been shown that such substitutions lead to very fine particles with superparamagnetic behavior
