Big players in chip design buy into India

This paper reports on the increasing number of multinational IT companies that have invested or are planning to invest in chip design in India. This illustrates in part the enormous growth in demand for the custom chips that corporate leaders expect India´s IT and consumer electronics industries to require, and is a tribute to the skills and talents of the software and design engineers being turned out by India´s polytechnics and universities. India´s position has become stronger in both market potential and engineering resources that it is expected to be driving some of the major global developments in chip design very soon.
