  • Abstract
A new EMP isolation transformer concept has been developed to isolate power and other low-frequency lines from EMP transients. Measurements on a prototype transformer show common and differential mode isolation of 70-120 dB over the frequency range of several kilohertz to greater than several hundred megahertz. This is a significant improvement over standard and EMC/EMI transformers which do not provide significant isolation in the EMP frequency regime.
