  • Abstract
    A coupled-mode method is used to analyse the interaction between the slow space-charge wave of an electron beam and the electroacoustic wave of a lossless warm plasma. A transmission-line analogue of the plasma electroacoustic wave is developed. Maximum gain expression is obtained from the solution of the beam-plasma coupled-mode equations.
