Abstract
The NGH Subsynchronous Resonance (SSR) Damping Scheme designed to damp subsynchronous currents in transmission lines and to protect generating machines from SSR was installed at Southern California Edison´s Lugo Substation in June, 1984. The NGH Scheme has been in Operation for about two years and has been operating satisfactorily. The paper describes the NGH Scheme installation and its operating experience at SCE´s Lugo Substation.
