Abstract
This paper considers the SREMP response of a long conductor immersed in a conducting medium (i.e., a buried line). The transmission line equations are first derived from Maxwell´s equations, with emphasis on the assumptions and approximations made. Numerical results of a finite-difference code for solving Maxwell´s equations are then compared to a transmission line computer model of the same geometry.
