Abstract
This paper presents a method of addressing the aging requirement of IEEE-323-74 for Class 1E equipment located in a mild environment of nuclear power plants. Testing is being performed on the elemental components (capacitors, potentiometers, ICs, etc.) from which electrical equipment is built. Described is the methodology used in the aging and seismic testing of a comprehensive mix of component samples. This is an ongoing effort and the results to date are presented on component samples which have been aged to an equivalent of 5 years before seismic testing.
