  • Abstract
Electromagnetic forces generate vibrations in the end-winding support structure of large turbine generators. In order to study in detail this phenomenon, a 3D electromagnetic model which computes the forces an the conductor bars, is coupled with a 3D mechanical model which calculates the displacements using the electromagnetic forces as an input. The method is applied to the study of a 600MW generator endminding under rated steady-state conditions.
