  • Abstract
    By combining the oscillator-bias-circuit equation with Kurokawa´s expressions for radio-frequency noise, a general theory of r.f.(or intrinsic) noise, up-converted (or modulation) noise and down-converted noise and their mutual relationships is developed. Special applications to the IMPATT-diode oscillator are discussed.
