Abstract
Glow due to stray emission, dark current, interelectrode arcing, arcing, and leakage current among electrodes, is a measure to exhibit the high voltage stability of picture tubes. Especially since arcing may seriously damage integrated circuits (ICs), solid state devices and components in the circuitry or the picture tube itself, consequently the discharge-protection circuitry is applied to the chassis, and the picture tube is processed in various ways to prevent foreign substances and stray emission sources, which may cause the arcing, from being assembled inside the tube in the manufacturing process.
