An Automatic Sharpness Control

A system is described which controls the luminance peaker gain in a color television receiver by using the peaked luminance in a closed loop. The customer sharpness control is in the feedback leg and provides a reference which the system tracks as the high frequency content of the received luminance changes. The theory of operation is discussed and an example of the system´s performance is given.
