Abstract
A water-projectile acceleration device for the experimental study of ablation during acceleration is described, and experimental results are presented. In order to see the ablation effects clearly, a relatively high-current discharge in a closed chamber in which the water is contained was used. The results are of interest in connection with the development of ablation mass drivers
