  • Abstract
    A charge-coupled device is described in which an amplified measure of the charge can be obtained nondestructively at each element. Features of the device include high charge gain (¿105) and the facility to reset the device and introduce charge packets into the c.c.d. by the `punchthrough¿ effect.
