Abstract
The paper describes a simple method for loading the writable control memory of a microprogrammable computer. The user-defined microinstructions are stored in the RAM memory of a support processor and they can be loaded into the control memory of the microprogrammable computer by executing simple commands in the support processor. The 16-bit user-microprogrammable microcomputer, the UMM-16, designed at The City University is described as an example of this where the support processor is an F8 microcomputer.
