  • Abstract
    The synchronisation technique described by the authors is applicable to multiple frequency shift keyed (MFSK) digital transmission systems. The technique does not require specific synchronisation overheads to be incorporated into the transmissions, but operates using the normal traffic signal format. This is termed ´modulation-derived synchronisation´ (MDS). It is particularly suited to digital signal processor (DSP) implementations of demodulators.
