Abstract
This report describes the numerical analysis of the magnetic field for the levitation magnet of High Speed Surface Transport (HSST) being developed by JAPAN AIR LINES Co., Ltd. A 3-dimensional magnetic field analysis using a finite element method was adopted as an aid for the levitation magnet design. A new method was not used in this numerical calculation. However, only a few large scale magnetostatic models have been calculated, and therefore I believe the results are worth introducing.
