Abstract
An induction generator draws a large amount of reactive power from the system if it accelerates to a high speed, which could result in voltage collapse. This paper investigates a braking resistor-based method for enhancing the stability performance of distribution systems with induction generators. Computer simulation results show that the proposed technique can be an effective method for mitigating the problem.
