Abstract
A description is given of Utah Power & Light´s transient stability monitoring system, a system that monitors the parameters of stability quickly enough to assist in guarding against transient (sudden and major) instabilities. A system overview is given, followed by a discussion of the encoders, decoder, real-time displays, postmortem displays, and online experience.<>
