Abstract
The authors have proposed, test-run, and checked the operation of a new type of linear motor, the claw-pole linear pulse motor, which has the advantages of simple structure and good positioning precision. They describe the measurements of stator flux density distribution and static thrust force. The results for both these basic characteristics were better than those obtained for existing motors. However, the measurements showed that there were problems with the structure such as claw inductor saturation and stator flux leakage. This motor has superior cost performance
