Steady-State Modelling of Composition and Production of Activated Sludge

The mathematical model used for computing the composition and production of activated sludge is derived from the method of material balance. Solids composition and production are expressed explicitly as a function of solids time. The new model contains two variable parameters that are characteristic of the influent and can be easily determined using laboratory data. The model is applicable in optimization of design parameters and removal yield and operating of activated sludge system.
