مروري توصيفي - تحليلي بر ترجمه‌هاي انگليسي قرآن در شبه قاره

A Descriptive-analyticstudyon the English Translations of Qur’anin the Indian Sub-Continent

با توجه به كثرت ترجمه­ هاي انگليسي قرآن در شبه قاره، مي­توان اين سرزمين را از فعال­ترين مشاركت­ كنندگان در اين عرصه دانست. اهتمام به اين ترجمه­ ها در اين سرزمين دلايل مختلفي دارد از جمله وجود فرق مذهبي مختلف در شبه قاره و تضادهاي عقيدتي موجود بر سر معناي درست كلام خدا ميان آنها، سلطه استعمار انگليس و تلاش مسلمانان براي جلوگيري از تحريف مفاهيم اسلامي و معاني قرآن در ترجمه، و گسترش دين اسلام و مبارزه با گروه هاي تبشيري مسيحي. پژوهش حاضر بر آن است تا سهم شبه­ قاره را در توليد ترجمه­ هاي انگليسي باز­شناسد و به معرفي اين ترجمه ­ها و ويژگي­هاي آنها بپردازد. اين تحقيق در پي­ پاسخ به اين سوالات است كه مهمترين ترجمه ­هاي انگليسي صورت­ گرفته از قرآن در شبه قاره كدامند؟ اين ترجم ه­ها چه خصوصياتي داشته و بارزترين ويژگي آنان و دلايل عمده توليد آنها چه مي­باشد؟بنابراين پژوهشگران با اتخاذ روشي توصيفي-تحليلي وبا مراجعه به تر­جمه ­هاي مختلف به جمع ­آوري اطلاعات مورد نياز­، و توصيف و تحليل چهل ترجمه انگليسي از قرآن كريم پرداخته ­اند. نتايج نشان­داد كه سير كلي روشهاي به كار رفته­ در اين ترجمه­ها از استراتژي­هاي مبداء-محور شروع و به سمت شيوه ­هاي ارتباط ي­تر و مقصد ­مدارتر حركت­ نموده ­است.

Regarding the multiplicity of the English translations of Qur’an in the Indian subcontinent, it can be considered as one of the most active participants in the production of the English translations of Quran. The necessity of producing these translations might have arisen due to several reasons as the existence of various religious groups in the subcontinent and the ideological conflict among them concerning the exact meaning of the Divine Message, the endeavor to prevent manipulation of the Islamic concepts and themeaning ofQuran in translation, spreading Islam and struggling with the Evangelical Christianity groups. In this regard, in the present paper it has been attempted to recognize the share of these countries in producing English translations and introduce them. The research method is descriptive-analytic and using different translation resources to gather data. More than 40 English translations of Quran in India and Pakistan have been considered. The results demonstrate that the methods of these translations have been started with the meaning-oriented strategies and moved towards more communicative and goal-orientedways.
