Replacement of Incandescent Lamps by Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) for Residential Consumers of Tehran South-West Electric Distribution Company

One of the effective options for reducing lighting load shares during peak hours is to replace incandescent lamps by compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs). This option has high quantitative potential for residential consumers according to considerable share of incandescent lamps for this sector. It would be very important for the consumers that this replacement lead to economic benefit for them, so CFL price is an important factor for replacement decision. In this paper, results of replacement of 25,40,60 and 100 watts incandescent lamps by equivalent CFLs for residential consumers of Tehran South-West Electric Distribution Company are shown. Quantitative effects of this replacement on reducing of peak load and electric energy consumption of consumers and also Tehran South - West Electric Distribution Company are calculated in different Scenarios in this paper.
