Survey of Iranʹs Foreign Commercial Terms of Trade

The present paper explains theoretical and historical foundation of terms of trade and its behaviour in the Iranian foreign trade from various perspectives during the past decades. It presents the trend of net terms of trade among the developed and developing group of countries, oil exporting and none oil exporting developing countries, as well as of 21 selected developing countries in comparison with Iran during the years of 1968-96. The change in the trend of the terms of trade of overall foreign trade during 1960-1997 as well as various types of terms of trade, with emphasize. On the non-oil exports, within the period of 1965-98 are also calculated and analysed.
