Mulla Sadraʹs View of the First Emanated

Some thinkers believe that introducing the intellect as the first emanated indicates Mulla Sadraʹs agreement with other philosophers in this regard. However, his ultimate view of the first emanated is that it is identical with the very unfolded existence. Some others maintain that the difference between the two theories is purely verbal. One group introduces the intellect as the first thing that was created by God and the unfolded existence as the first thing that God placed on the top. Another group considers the term `firstʹ in the first intellect in its metaphorical rather than real sense. There is still another group stating that the unfolded being is not emanated at all to be the first or other than the first one. Rather, it is the very true emanation and present illumination of the Truth. Another theory states that if we look at the world from an undifferentiated point ofʹ view, the unfolded being is the first emanated, while from a differentiated point ofʹ view, the first emanated is the first intellect.
