Information Technology and Productivity

In the recent years, the relation between information technology (IT) and information productivity has been concerned as a discussable issue. Imperial researchs in 1980s and early 1990s indicate that there is insignificant relation between IT investments and promoting productivity. But the more recent researches show that IT has an effective role on promoting productivity as well as economic growth. Using literature review approach, the present paper intends to provide some recommendations and to evaluate advantages and disadvantages of IT for promoting productivity.
