Case Report of Long QT Syndrome Presenting As A Recurrent Seizures

A 2.5 year old girl was brought to emergency department of Imam Reza Hospital in Mashad University because of recurrent seizures. She was treated with anticonvulsant for long time. Initial evaluation ruled out metabolic or other causes of seizure and unconsciousness except for long QT interval in EKG tracing. After beginning propranolol these episodes were stopped. Early recognition of this syndrome is very important because of prognostic and therapeutic consequences. In this report a case of long QT syndrome with the diagnosis of Romano Ward Syndrome is presented.
