The Study of Pollination and Choice of Best Pollinizers for the Olive Cultivars (Olea europaea L.)"Roghani; Baladi; Mari and Manzanilla;"

For evaluation of compatibility and determining the best pollinizer for Roghani, Baladi, Mari and Manzanilla olive Cuoltivars in 1998-1999, different pollination treatments, such as open pollination, self Pollination and cross Pollination has studied. The results of this research indicated that all of studied cultivars were self-incompatibile. But the degree of incompatibility was affected by the factors of cultivar and year. Pollen tube growth showed that incompatibility in olive was gametophytic. There were incompatibility in cross-pollination among cultivars but these relations were not reciprocal. Regarding to the index of compatibility the best pollinizer for studied cultivars were determined respectively as follows:1-Roghani: Zard, Leccino, Baladi, Roghani, Manzanilla. 2-Mari: Manzanilla, Baladi, Mari, Zard. 3- Baladi: Mari, Roghani, Leccino, Baladi and Manzanilla. 4- Manzanilla: Zard, Mari, Baladi, Manzanilla.
