Simulation of natural gas dehydration unit on south pars phase 1 offshore platform

Natural gas coming from reservoirs, in normal condition, is saturated with water vapor. The water vapor has capability of hydrate ,formation with gas components in transmission lines or process equipment .This phenomena causes a lot of process problems such as corrosion and plugging of transmission lines and equipments. There are wide variety methods for drying of natural gas. This paper, includes explanations on hydrate and its formation conditions and customary methods of gas drying, after that the reader can find the investigation of south pars gas, field phase 1 offshore process system followed by above mentioned system simulation by HYSYS. The study also covers evaluation of the effects of various operating parameters on performance of unit in detail. Also a discussion on increasing of system efficiency and functionality based on achieved results can he seen.
