Optimal Strategy for Natural Gas Development in Iran

Regarding to increasing demand of natural gas in the world, fruition of natural gas resources can provide great opportunities for gas suppliers. According to review of gas reserves in the world, Iranʹs share of gas reserve is approximately 15.5 percent of world gas reserves. Natural gas has different applications, domestic energy consumption; Injection to oilfields for enhances oil recovery and exports of as (by pipeline, as LNG & GTL). In the other hand, development of natural gas industry can provide great opportunities for technology development, technology transfer and other research activities. As a part of analysis of gas consumption, gas injection, gas export, forecast their situation for the future and stating present challenges in gas industry, this article tries to provide prospect of optimal gas development strategy.
