Position of Failed States Theory in the U.S New Security Considerations

The concept of collapsed states or Failed states is among the concepts which was given heed in cold war era significantly from development perspective, especially in political literature (Hantington Model) by the Third Worldʹs Analists or post - colonialism states. With the end of Cold War, the trend of theorizing about such states (faild) gaind specific characteristics. On the one hand, such trend increased analytical richness of the concept by academic thinkers, and on the other hand, this concept achieved certain functions in the US foreign behavior, specially in security aspects. Orientation of Clinton adminstration in its considerations (specially in Somalian crisis) and the policies announced by US adminstration after September 11th with regard to identifying the concept of failed states indicates the same meaning.
