Post-modernity has played an important role in changing the human sights in different areas of life. Library and information profession is inevitably influenced by Post-modernity. To study the impact of post-modernity on LIS profession will provide librarians with a wider horizon for them. This paper studies the impact of post-modernity and its social outcomes on the insights and activities of LIS profession. Both modernity and post-modernity are reviewed in regard to their impacts on LIS. The paper also discusses the relation between post-modernity and information technology as well as between post-modernity and LIS education.
