Wind Energy Density

According to the recent statistics (Sept.1999), more than 12000 Megawatts Wind Energy Convertors (WECS) or Wind Power Plants are existing in the whole world. This is the same as the half of the whole capacity of the Iranian Power Plants. Recently, under the supervision of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Megawatts of WECS electricity was generated in Manjil area. In response to a few fundamental questions this article explains full mathematical method to find out the wind energy density for a selected area. Using wind velocity data, one can determine the probability of Density Distribution Function p(v). A simple method for the evaluation of Weibull] parameters c and k are given and the wind energy density is determined in W/m^2.
