The Effects of Globalization on Spatial Structure of Undeveloped Economics

Looking for the roots of undeveloped economics led geographers to the role of center-periphery structure of the world economy. Although most researchers have suggested that the industrial capitalism is responsible for weak economies of undeveloped countries, the roots of the problems go back to the merchantilism era. In this paper we try to investigate the problem using Vance and Kelley model. We will show that the merchantilistic activities have resulted into present spatial structure of economies in undeveloped countries.
