Anjoman-e Moqaddas-e Melli Isfahan and the Governorship of Zell-o-Soltan During the First Session of Mashrootiyat

In 1905/1324, as the result of long time socio-political uprising, the Iranian old system transferred to the constitutional situation. Thus, the most important outcome of the movement was the establishment of the National Assembly (Majles) in Tehran and the Local Assemblies (Anjomans) in the major cities and provinces of Iran. In Isfahan, the Local Assembly was called "Anjoman-e Moqaddas-e Melli". This Anjoman, in spite of its co-operation at the beginning with Zell-o-Soltan, the Governor General of the region (Vali), with dissatisfaction of people, became against Vali and asked the central government to dismiss him. Finally, the struggle between people and the Anjoman with Governor General and the central government induced to strikes, demonstrations and sanctuaries (bastneshini) which consequently led to topple the cruel vali, Zell-o-Soltan from his post.
