Bone induction studies by tooth in Rat

Aim: The aim of present study was to evaluate the bone induction with calcified and decalcified dentin and enamel when implant into the muscle and subcutaneous tissues of rat. Method & Material: In this study, 24 teeth that some was calcified and some decalcified with CIII, NO3H Acid was implanted in abdominal subcutaneous tissues and intra oral muscle in rat. Results: The rats were sacrificed after (1-6 months) later and prepare the samples and assessment with microscope. Our result show that no bone was seen in samples, teeth were resorbed and only fibrous tissue and inflammatory cells were remained around them. Conclusion: In the present study, even though no bone formation occurred after the teeth implant but we still can not definitely reject the possibility of the bone induction by dentin.
