A Study of the Effects of Drought on Groundwater in Damavand Zone

Drought is a process created by climate. It has been one of the biggest challenges of humans since his/her cration over the earth. This is the main reason for carrying out this research. The precipitation amounts have significant role in hydroclimatic cycle. The effect of drought on runoff, Particularly in Damavand area, which is nearby Tehran and is important in tourist attraction. It was clarified in this study that according to a 34-year annual rainfall in the area, there has been dramatic reduction in water table, although in same years, there was surplus rainfall. The maximum reduction in that for the year 1378-79, reaching at 3.5 meters.
