Investigating the Causes of Repeating Theft Among the Experienced Thieves of Tehran Province.

Theft is among the oldest civil crimes commited differently in different communities. This phenomenon has been subject for changes in the course of time and is a crime that has put many criminals on sentence. Theft has a lot of destructive effects on the sense of insecurity and subsequently on the domestic security. What makes the issue quite crucial and significant is that theives , after suffering the punishment and returning to the society, repeat theft. Research shows that most of the major and sophisticated thefts are commited by experienced and professional thieves, the tracing and arrest of whom is possible only by expert and efficient police. The present paper intends to examine those individual,social and organizational factors causing thieves to approach the crime again, after suffering punishment in prison.
