Effective Factors in Shaping Entrepreneurial University

In the late 20th century, the diminishing of trade barriers and the move to globalization, liberalization and privatization, specially, in higher education caused changes in missions and duties of universities . As a result of these changes, the third generation of universities, so- called entrepreneurial university was shaped. The important character of this generation is focused on teaching, research and creating wealth through commercialization of research findings. Transformation of academia from their traditional mission which means teaching and research to entrepreneurial university requires creation of new structural organization and diffusion of an entrepreneurial academic culture. This paper intends to present some key factors that can be formed the entrepreneurial university and learn from the selected successful universities experiences as well as the analysis of essentials for further movement towards the entrepreneurial university.
