DISTRIBUTION OF STUDENT POPULATION IN THE WORLD

I World has passed mass education and now is passing mass higher education. Higher education is one of essential factors for knowledge based economy. But countries with different level of development have different level of higher education expansion. This article reviews distribution of student population in the world areas and countries, with this emphasis that how many of them are female. Using UNESCO statistics, this article shows that in the year 2007 there is a total number of 136 million students around the World, Also, this article shows that nearly 51 percent of total student, are female and Iran has 1.6 percent of total student population in the World.
