The Necessity of Adopting Appropriate Language Polity against the Spread of English Language

The spread of English language followed by the globalization phenomenon and the impact of this language on the different aspects of life in the communities such as ours is undoubtedly a fact that needs some deliberation. The general policies of Islamic Republic of Iran, concerning globalization, in cultural field and in national area, shows that "Foreign Language (at the time being "English") must be viewed as an essential skill rather than a factor that threats our national identity". Regarding this policy, the present article aims to distinguish the kind of language management that should be applied by the government against the increasing development of English in our society. Therefore, the use of English should be controlled in such a way that it is considered just as a means for the affairs. In this article, there is an emphasis on the deliberate and precise language policy for using and specially teaching English in the society, taking into account the cultural and Islamic values and on the role of English just as a tool. At the end, taking look at the experiences of some Asian countries, some solutions have been suggested for performing this policy.
