Sustenance in Views of Islamic Theologians and its Reflection in Persian Literature

Since the creators of Persian literary texts within the thousand-year history of Persian literature have been the scholars and educated figures of the Islamic society and they have been authorities in religious, theological, philosophical and scientific issues, in Persian literary texts, both verse and prose, and especially in Sufi texts and in the Persian and Arabic proverbs and maxims prevalent in Persian language, the issue of sustenance and daily provision and its differing and contradictory interpretations have had an extensive reflection. Focusing on this theological issue will result in a better understanding of the issue and eventually a better understanding of literary texts. The present paper attempts to elaborate the different aspects of this theological issue from the theologiansʹ viewpoint, hoping to be of interest to the respected readers.
