The Relationship between ForgivingHusbands Marital Infidelity and WomenʹsMental Health

This study has surveyed the mental health of women whose husband have affairs with another woman. The relationship of women ʹs forgiving or not forgiving the husbandʹs infidelity with womenʹs mental health was researched. The statistical population included all women who came to counseling clinics with the problem of husbandʹs marital infidelity. The sample was composed of 57 ladies who sufferes from this problem. Mental health was measured by SCL90-R and forgiveness was measured by Gord and Bacornʹs forgiveness inventory of husbandʹs marital infidelity (2003). The results indicate that there is a significant relationship between the levels of forgiveness and womenʹs mental health. Yet, only 3 women could reach th final stage of forgiveness.
