Humanʹs Godlikeness in Creation

Some traditions in religious texts contain expressions apparently suggesting anthropomorphism of glorified God. A group of these traditions principally lack authenticity and are rejected with their weak records of authority. Scrutiny and the careful and comprehensive investigations of the other group - which have a reliable authority - remove any probable doubt. The tradition related from the holy Prophet saying that "Verily, Allah has created the man in His own form" is one of the traditions regarded by some as a proof of Godʹs anthropomorphism. This paper aims at presenting a descriptive-analytical study of the above-mentioned tradition in both Shii and Sunni sources as far as its authority and content is concerned, trying to evaluate different views presented in explanation of this tradition.
