Scientific Secularism in the West

Secularism originates from the west and goes back to the events taking place during the Renaissance and after it. One of the aspects of Renaissance is a separation between religion and politics. As the secularist ideas entered the Islamic world, the removal of religion from the realm of science began, and there came about a separation between [spiritual] values and sciences. This study tries to find the reasons for separation of the religion and science in the West through a descriptive and analytical method, and aims at recounting the process of this separation; it tries to mention the reasons for emergence and durance of scientific secularism in the West, pointing out that this phenomena was the result of a historical event, not originating from a unavoidable logical rule at all, just as there would be found no contradictions between science and religion in Islam as well as some Western thinkersʹ viewpoints.
