Dutch Disease and Political Market Structure

This fact can not be denied that the oil revenue has helped oil producing countries to develop their physical infrastructure. However, sudden rise in exchange earning from such source was not harmless. Infact its impact of economic growth has not been positive. Rather it lead to a phenomena known as Dutch diseases. The Purpose of this paper is to show that from institutional economic point of view such problem is not inevitable, the mentioned phenomena occure only when the revenue earned from such source are not properly utilized and there is mismanagement in Its expenditures irrespective of its socio- welfare impact.
