Review of Online Thesauri Compilation Methods

The present paper reviews the methods for compiling and constructin online thesauri from two general approaches of computer-aided thesaurus construction and computerized thesaurus construction. In the discussing the construction of online thesaurus with help of computers, use of deduction engine for determination of terminological relationships as well as the concept approach for construction of online thesauri were studied and the practical stages of online thesaurus construction were reviewed. In the computerized approach for construction of online thesauri, textual methods, methods derived from WordNet Hierarchy, clustering and Self-Organized Mapping Techniques were studied.
