The Effect of Pouring Temperature and Ceramic Shell Thickness on the Fluidity of X-40 Cobalt Base Superalloy

In this study the situation for casting X-40 cobalt base superalloy investigated, therefore for the investigation of fluidity we use aerofoil test piece in the ceramic mold in investment casting and the alloy fluidity for pouring temperature 1480,1500,1520,1540°C and various thickness of ceramic shell 7,9,11 layer and preheat temperature 1050°C investigated .The results show the increasing pouring temperature from 1480 to 1540°C the fluidity increases and when the ceramic shell layers number decreases or increases from 9 layer the fluidity decreases. The maximum fluidity was in 1540°C pouring temperature and 9 ceramic shell layer numbers.
