The impact of parenting skill training using cognitive-behavioral pattern on decreas of marital conflicts among Isfahan married couples

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of teaching parenting skills on the decrease of marital conflicts using cognitive-behavioral pattern. For this parpuse, one division of education ministery of Isfahan has been selected randomly. Of the elementary schools in this division, two schools have been selected. Thirty four of studentʹs mothers whose scores in marital conflicts questionnaire were more than the average of all were chosen and randomly asigned into two control and experimental groups. Research method was experimental design based on pre-test; post-test with control group. The measurement instruments were the Marital Conflicts Questionnaire of Barati-Sanaei and Parents Authoritative Questionnaire of Bourai. Parenting skills based on cognitive-behavioral patterns were taught to experimental groups. The results indicated that teaching parenting skills based on cognitive-behavioral patterns decrease the marital conflicts. Also teaching parenting skills based on cognitive-behavioral patterns increases parenting skills to mothers with authoritative demention and decrease permissive authoritarian dementions.
