Flood hazard mapping In Damavand river reach by using Mathematical Models

Flood hazard zonation is a useful tool to estimate high flow in different return periods. First, landuse maps, slop and soil hydrologic groups used for SCS curve numbers method in Damavand region were prepared using ILWIS. Then HEC-HMS was used to calibrate the outflow discharge for different return priods. Moreover , Geometrical specifications, coefficent of roughnes, boundary layer of upstream and boundry layer of downstream were determined and imported to MIKE 11 to find the maximum water level as well as to prepars flood zonation map of the region of different return periods. The results showed that 75 percent of the region will be coverd with a flood of 100-year return priod wilhe it is prone to flooding in 25 return period.
