A Period of Disorder in the Culture and Education of Ancient Iran (Hellenization)

Ancient Iran faced a period of cultural and educational disarray during the interval between Achaemenides and Arsacids reign which lasted for almost 100 years. This confusion resulted from Alexander the Macedonianʹs attack to Iran and the fall of Achaemenides Empire. During this period Alexander and his successors tried hard to Hellenize the deep-rooted Iranian culture. Although they failed, they could, to some extent, leave a trace of cultural-educational impressions. The author presents a picture of this period and gives recommendations to prevent foreign domination.
